NPC-Funded Facilities Used as Evacuation Centers in Lanao
 
Following the on-going conflict in Marawi City, thousands of families were displaced and are now seeking shelter in evacuation centers in nearby municipalities.
Four of these evacuation centers were funded by NPC through its internally generated cash and through ER 1-94, the incentives given by DOE to communities hosting power generation facilities. These are the open multi-purpose gymnasiums and building in West Poblacion, Baloi; Brgy Campong, Pantar in Lanao del Norte; and Brgy. Poblacion in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.
 
The local government units and NPC offered these facilities as evacuation centers to guarantee the safety of the displaced families.
NPC joins the nation in prayers that the conflict will soon end and for peace to reign once more for the sake of its residents.

 

NPC Mindanao Generation Relief Operation in Baloi, Lanao del Norte

 

The NPC-Mindanao Generation Office distributed 151 packs of goods to families sheltered at an evacuation center at Baloi, Lanao del Norte which is just 20 km away from Marawi City. The goods, which were turned over to NDRRMC Head Mr. Qaharoddin Ali and Baloi Vice Mayor Mustpha M. Ali, contains rice, canned goods, coffee, noodles, sleeping mats and blankets. The packs are expected to sustain the beneficiaries for at least two days while waiting for more reliefs to come.

 

Meanwhile, the said multi-purpose covered court turned evacuation center was built by NPC and PSALM as part of their corporate social responsibility program in 2016.
