NPC concludes three-day leadership and management program for its executives

To strengthen camaraderie and renew its commitment to NPC’s vision, mission, and mandate, NPC organized a three-day learning session for all of its 156 executives at the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo City, Rizal.

The three-day program started with a message from NPC OIC Usec. Donato Marcos as delivered by Atty. Melchor P. Ridulme, VP for Legal Counsel.

“I want this management convocation to be just more than a planning workshop and continuation of what our strategic planning has started. Let us also renew our commitment to finding joy and enthusiasm at work,” Atty. Ridulme said while elaborating on the three ways how to find joy at work. The three steps to joy as he elaborated were looking at the Lord as the real boss, opening up to friends at work, and being kind.

Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Mr. Rene B. Barruela then shared among the managers the outputs of the management strategic planning held in January (integration and way forward).

Also on the first day, Mr. Mennen M. Aracid discussed handling dynamics and diversity in the workplace. He emphasized that there can be several responses to adversities, [the management] can avoid, cope, manage, harness, or use the disadvantageous to the [company’s] advantage.

On the second day, motivational speaker and humorist Lloyd Luna spoke about the intentional transformation framework – disruption, creation and realization that produce something new.

The formula for a transformation that, he quips, makes lasting results.

Another speaker, Mr. Jesse N. Rebustillo liven the afternoon mood with his talk on work-life balance and integration.

On the third and final day of the program, the newly promoted managers took their oath as members of the NPC Executives Association Inc. (EXAI). The NPC Career Executives Service Officers also held their assembly and election, installing Mr. Emmanuel Umali, Department Manager for Watershed Management, as its President.

Usec. Marcos also engaged everyone in an open forum to know and address their foremost concerns. The program ends with capturing a group photo.

The 2022 Leadership and Management Program was organized by the Human Resources Department – Training and Development Division.
