NPC executives led by President and CEO Fernando Martin Y. Roxas have recently attended the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) 2023 Performance Target Conference and signed its 2023 Performance Scorecard with GCG Chairperson Justice Alex L. Quiroz.

The GCG was mandated by the GOCC Governance Act of 2011 (Republic Act No. 10149) to institutionalize a performance evaluation system (PES) to uphold transparency and promote excellence among GOCCs. With PES, agencies like NPC set targets and weights that are validated and approved by the GCG. The achievement of these targets is then used as the basis for the grant of performance-based bonuses, the reappointment of the head of agencies, and whether the agency should be reorganized, merged, privatized, or abolished.
