On September 30, 2022, the National Power Board elected and confirmed Fernando Martin Y. Roxas as the new President and CEO of the National Power Corporation following the appointment to the latter by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. |
Roxas is an experienced management professional and a seasoned executive in the energy sector whose expertise included sustainable energy systems, financial and economic analysis, systems thinking and strategy management, corporate planning and utility management, among others. |
He is a professor for over 20 years at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) where he teaches in the degree and non-degree programs in the areas of Systems Thinking, Operations and Supply Chain Management. Roxas has also served as a consultant to the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and US Aid. |
He has produced several scholarly publications on tourism and sustainable energy and served as the executive director of the Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism where he developed training programs on sustainable tourism applications. He was instrumental in the Department of Tourism’s current innovative policies. |
Roxas completed his degree in geology from the University of the Philippines and his master’s degree in Engineering Geology from the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand, both as a scholar. He also obtained a master’s degree in business management from AIM and a doctorate in business administration from De La Salle University. |
