NPC conducted this week a series of consultation workshops with distribution utilities (DUs) and local government units for the crafting of the 2023 to 2027 Missionary Electrification Plan (MEP).

The workshop aimed to impart to the participants the operational status of NPC’s SPUG power plants and to harmonize future plans with that of the electric cooperatives and/or the local governments who function as distributors of electricity.

To allow a thorough discussion with the participants, the workshop was held in four schedules – Eastern and Western Mindanao; Eastern and Western Visayas; Marinduque, Quezon, Northern Luzon and Palawan areas; and Mindoro, Romblon and Bicol areas.

MEP, a report being updated every year, contains the direction of NPC’s capacity addition and refleeting programs, expansion of its services and facilities, and improving reliability and resiliency of its current power assets. It is a quick resource to its employees, customers, and partner agencies as to what the face of missionary electrification will look like in the next five years.
