NPC through the Corporate Affairs Group (CAG) concluded the 2024 Power Customers Forum and Consultations for Missionary Electrification Plan (MEP) 2025-2029 at the NPC Fiesta Hall, Head Office, Diliman, Quezon City on September 18 & 19, 2024.

In his opening remarks, NPC President & CEO Fernando Martin Y. Roxas encouraged NPC officials to deepen their understanding of customers better, emphasizing the importance of building stronger connections to better meet their needs and expectations. For the benefit of electricity consumers, he further requested that the Distribution Utilities (DUs) and Electric Cooperatives (ECs) work alongside NPC to prioritize initiatives aimed at improving service efficiency and reliability.

Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, keynote speaker of the event, is the Undersecretary of the Department of Energy (DOE), supervising the Bureaus of Renewable Energy Management and Electric Power Industry Management. She urged NPC, the DUs, and ECs to foster collaboration to achieve total electrification for the country.

The program focused on NPC providing attendees with recent information on SPUG Operations Adequacy and Reliability, NPC Projects, Collection Efficiency and Accelerated Hybrid Program as well as the latest updates from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the Department of Energy (DOE).

This is the final part of the 2024 Power Customers Forum and consultations for 2025-2029 Missionary Electrification Plan (MEP) attended by 79 key representatives from 39 electric cooperatives, power distribution firms, NPPs/QTPs, TRANSCO, DOE and NEA based in Luzon.  The CAG also arranged the Visayas and Mindanao portion last September 4-5, 2024, in Cebu City with 25 attendees, and 60 participants last August 14-15, 2025, in Zamboanga City, respectively.  

The annual Power Customers’ Forum and consultations for MEP strengthens ties between NPC and its stakeholders while giving ECs and DUs a platform to express their issues and concerns.
