To educate students from select secondary schools in Tiwi and Malinao, Albay on watershed protection and environmental conservation, NPC through Tiwi Watershed Area Team (TWAT) organized a series of school lectures and film screenings last August 2024.

Grades 9 and 10 students from schools within the Tiwi Geothermal Reservation, namely Tiwi Agro-Industrial School, Naga National High School, Joroan National High School, Balza Malinao High School, and Labnig National High School, actively engaged in the activity which emphasized environmental preservation and stewardship. The lectures and films shown aim to encourage them to become environmental leaders, focused on learning about sustainability and practicing eco-friendly habits. Through this, students had a chance to assess their personal contribution to the environment and identify ways to promote and motivate others to act in protecting and preserving the environment for a more sustainable future.

Tiwi Watershed Reservation is home to the Municipalities of Tiwi, Malinao, and portions of Buhi in Bicol. It supports geothermal energy and is one of the 11 watershed reservations under NPC’s stewardship.
