NPC through Caliraya Watershed Management Team (CLWAT) together with NKS Solar One organized a tree planting activity on 07 and 08 November 2024 in Barangay East Talaongan, Cavinti, Laguna, as part of the Adopt a Watershed initiative.

Representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cavinti, various Barangay Local Government Units (BLGU) such as East Talaongan, West Talaongan, Mahipon-Lumot, Inaowan, Tibatib, as well as local media Ripple 88, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, and the 202nd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army (UNIFIER) took part in the activity. Various indigenous tree species were planted during the activity.

Foresters Philip Noel A. Garrote and Gian May P. Calabano from the NPC-CLWAT provided an orientation on proper planting techniques to ensure the survival of the newly planted seedlings.

Through this initiative with NPC and NKS Solar One aims to enhance the protection and conservation of the Caliraya Lumot Watershed Reservation (CLWFR) while supporting reforestation efforts to achieve carbon neutrality.

NPC and NKS Solar One signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on October 16, 2024 for the Adopt a Watershed initiative, where the former has committed to adopting a 3.2 hectare area for tree planting within the CLWFR.
