National Power Corporation employees were among the thousands of civil servants who gathered in Quirino Grandstand recently to start the month-long celebration of Philippine Civil Service Month.

Leading the celebration is the Civil Service Commission (CSC) who expressed their delight in resuming the annual fun run this year following the Covid pandemic.

Proceeds from the CSC Vibe Run will go directly to the PLBi, a fund dedicated to supporting the families of public servants who died in the line of duty. Since 2011, two hundred forty-six (246) beneficiaries have received one-time financial assistance of One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php100,000.00) each. Additionally, the children of PLBi awardees were recommended for scholarships at state universities and colleges.

In 2021, CSC introduced a 10-year overarching theme, Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes. The theme reflects the collective experience of the government workforce in the new normal, and in pushing for digital transformation and innovations to uphold public service excellence and continuity.

For this year, the 124th PCSA celebration shall focus on the importance of cultivating sustainable management for the achievement of a future-ready civil service. This is also aligned with the aspirations and goals of the Ambisyon Natin 2040, which envisions a Philippines that enjoys a stable and comfortable life that is protected and enabled by a clean, efficient, and fair government.
