NPC Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Area Team (PCWAT) together with the representatives of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) come together for a tree planting activity within the Pantabangan-Carranglan Watershed Reservartion (PCWFR) in Sierra Madre, Brgy. Conversion, Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija  on October 22, 2024.

The activity kicked-off with a Social Preparation Training for farmer beneficiaries of the dragon fruit production livelihood project, to equip them with the skills and knowledge for its successful cultivation and management. Then, participants enthusiastically planted 50 seedlings consisting of cashew and guyabano.

From the start of the rainy season in 2024 until October 30, 2024, a total of 6,250 seedlings were dispersed and planted during the seedling dispersal and tree planting activities. The seedlings included Cashew (Anacardium occidentale), Atis (Annona squamosa), Guyabano (Annona muricata), Pomelo (Citrus maxima), Calumpang (Sterculia foetida), Narra (Pterocarpus indicus), and Molave (Vitex parviflora).

This activity aimed to rehabilitate open and denuded areas within the PCWFR is in line with NPC’s mandate to conduct watershed rehabilitation projects.
