NPC holds public safety awareness campaign in Mobo, Masbate City
To empower residents and students with transmission line safety precautions, NPC has recently conducted a public safety awareness campaign in the community and national high school in Barangay Marintoc in Mobo, Masbate City.
The lecture, discussion and film showing was facilitated by Mr. Roy Paje of the Corporate Communications Division and Mr. Mark Cabarles of the Masbate transmission system group. The program showed and taught the participants how power is generated and transmitted to their schools and homes; and the safety conduct expected of everyone who works with or near with the transmission lines.
The program aims to prevent accidents near NPC’s 69 kV transmission line which traverses the community. NPC operates and maintains the province’s transmission system which comprises of the 10 MVA Mobo Substation and the Mobo-Aroroy and Mobo-Cataingan lines which passes through eight (8) municipalities.
Similar program shall be conducted in more communities in Masbate.
