NPC Extends Aid to Displaced Families in Marawi City
The NPC Mindanao Generation’s Watershed Management Division volunteers and joins local organizations like the Iligan Medical Center School, Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementers-Iligan and the Ranaw Youth Tanggol Kalikasan of Marawi City in distributing 5000 relief goods from Xavier University of Cagayan de Oro to the families sheltered in evacuation centers in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur and Baloi in Lanao del Norte.
With the arrival of several relief goods for the displaced families in Marawi City, the extra hands provided by the volunteers were much needed by the local officials for the smooth distribution of the goods.
After the joint distribution of relief goods, NPC MINGEN’s Watershed Management Division distributed 300 pieces of Pater or ready to eat foods to some 250 evacuees sheltered in the Madrasah Arabic School in Barangay Payawan in Baloi, Lanao del Norte.
The provinces of Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte host the six (6) Agus Hydroelectric Power Plants with a total rated capacity of 727.10 MW, which are operated by NPC’s Mindanao Generation Group.
