NPC celebrates 83 years of service to Filipinos

Energy Regulatory Commission Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera on Monday, November 4 keynotes the National Power Corporation’s 83rd anniversary celebration.

The ERC Chair commends NPC for the work it does in the missionary areas and encouraged the state-corporation to continue exploring new technologies especially in renewable energy.

“From a study we conducted at the ERC, we infer that renewable energy sources can bring down the rates. For this, we need to grasp new technologies that will allow us to give better service at a lower price,” said ERC Chair Devanadera.

In his message, NPC President and CEO Pio J. Benavidez also encouraged the employees to rise up to the challenges and demands of today’s power industry including technological advancement.

President Pio said that with the NPC employees’ talent and proficiency, the corporation can go further to greater heights. He emphasized a trait that will help NPC get there saying, “to turn challenges into opportunities, we need excellence in all that we do. When we pursue excellence, success will follow naturally.”

Thanksgiving masses were held in its head office in Diliman, Quezon City and in its Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) Office in Visayas.
