NPCโ€™s Buhi-Barit Watershed Area Team on June 22 led a tree planting activity in Barangay San Ramon, Buhi, Camarines Sur to celebrate the Philippine Environment Month and restore typhoon-damaged areas in the watershed.

Around a hundred participants from the local government unit and organizations (LGU- Buhi PSO, BLGU-San Ramon, Kabalikat 336, Itbog Eagles Club, SBS Batch 94, PESI) joined and planted 500 seedlings of Narra, Lamog and Tugawe in the 35-hectare reforestation area in Barangay San Ramon.

BBWAT also grabbed the opportunity to give a small lecture on NPCโ€™s role in watershed management and called for collective and transformative action in protecting the forests.

NPC manages Buhi-Barit Watershed along with the 10 other forest reservations in the country through watershed protection, rehabilitation, and resource development programs.
