Hikdop Island in Surigao gets 24-hour electricity

NPC on Wednesday, December 12 grants round the clock power to Hikdop Island in Surigao City aiding its power plant’s 800 households to better living conditions and livelihood means.

Vice Governor Atty. Arturo A. Egay Jr. of Surigao del Norte and NPC’s Division Manager for Eastern Mindanao Operations Mr. Rodrigo Fullido and the local government unit led the launching of the 24-hour power supply in the island.

Witnesses to the event were Mr. Antonieto M. Charcos from the office of Cong. Ace Barbers, Councilor Jose Edranan, Mario Gensta and Engr. Miguel Trinidad of Surneco. All barangay captains of the eight barangays of Hikdop were also present.

The launch also made the entire Eastern Mindanao Operations Division of NPC all giving of round the clock power service. The other power plants include Balut in Sarangani, Davao del Sur; Dinagat and Loreto in Dinagat Islands; Kalamansig, Sen. Ninoy Aquino and Palimbang in Sultan Kudarat; and Talicud Island in Davao del Norte.
