NPC’s Maripipi Diesel Power Plant in Maripipi Island, Biliran now enjoys 24/7 power supply from 16 hours operation. This benefits around 1,500 households in the island municipality which is known for its crystal clear waters and serene ambiance.
To sustain the round the clock operations, a new 250 kw generating set is set to be delivered in the island this month. Presently, NPC’s available capacity in the island is 664 kW which is enough to address the peak demand of 177 kW.

The National Power Corporation (NPC) remains a government-owned and -controlled corporation mandated to perform missionary electrification or powering the farthest islands in the archipelago thru its Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG); watershed and dams management in support of power generation; and operations and maintenance of the Agus and Pulangi Hydropower Complexes in Mindanao. It is an attached agency of the Department of Energy (DOE).
