After years of renting out building spaces, NPC finally opened its new and permanent home in Cebu City for its Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) โ€“ Visayas Operations Department (VOD). The newly opened office building located in Sudlong, Lahug is named after the late NPC President, Engr. Pio J. Benavidez to honor him for his works in the power industry

The National Power Corporation has recently conducted a two-day refresher training on Republic Act 9184 (Procurement Law) for the members of its Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) and technical working groups for various procurement activities.

NPCโ€™s Mindanao Generation Group shone brightly in neon colors as they celebrated the National Power Corporationโ€™s 87th anniversary last week.

MinGen has also conducted team-building activities to fortify bonds among its employees and honored retired employees from the Mindanao office in Iligan and the Agus-Pulangi hydropower plants. The awarding of certificates and plaques to retirees was led by MinGen Vice President Mr. Larry I. Sabellina along with the plant and department managers. PSALM Corporation President Dennis Dela Cerna also graced the simple celebration to extend his warm wishes.

There was also an employeesโ€™ assembly which updated all personnel on the recent developments and issues concerning employment. It included an open forum, allowing employees to voice out their opinions on urgent matters.

On its 87th anniversary, NPC concluded its sports fest with the championship games on the first-ever online games face-off.

The pre-anniversary sports fest opened on October 3 with a parade and competitions on the best muse and cheer dance. For the entire month, players and spectators gathered at the Platinum Hall at 5:30 pm to witness the breathtaking basketball and volleyball games.

To heighten the anticipation for Christmas and to spread holiday cheer, the National Power Corporation held a Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 20 led by President Nani Roxas and Ms. Ginny Roxas. ย 

A fun run and Zumba were also held in the morning to encourage the employees to get back to their health activities. From the afternoon until evening, exhibition games in volleyball (women) and basketball (men and women) were organized to mark the day with fun and friendship. ย

National Power Corporation President and CEO Fernando Martin Y. Roxas joined the panel of speakers in the recently concluded Enlit Asia 2023 held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

President Nani shared before the power and energy professionals present at the conference the peculiarity of NPCโ€™s missionary electrification and its strategies in renewable energy and hybridization.

Enlit Asia, a unifying brand for PowerGen Asia and Asia Utility Week, is an annual conference for the power and energy sector in Southeast Asia that aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, and innovative solutions in the industry.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued a registration certificate for the three-year Collective Negotiation Agreement between the National Power Corporation and its Power Generation Employees Association (PGEA)-NPC. ย 

Awarding the certificate to NPC President Fernando Martin Y. Roxas and PGEA Vice President Raul Del Mundo was CSC Director Dick N. Chavez of the CSC Central Office. They were joined by NPC's Human Resources Department Manager Ms. Eloida Leona and PGEA Officer Mr. Arnel Casimiro. ย 

PGEA is the sole negotiating representative of all rank-and-file employees of NPC. The CNA is pursuant to Rule XIII of the Amended Rules and Regulations of Executive Order No. 180 containing the guidelines on the exercise of the right to organize of government employees and the creation of public sector labor management and for other purposes. ย

The National Power Corporation obtained a final rating of 94.92 in the Governance Commission of GOCCโ€™s (GCG) corporate governance scorecard (CGS) for the calendar year 2022.ย 

The CGS measures agency performances in stakeholder relationships, disclosure and transparency and corporate governance initiatives, among others.

NPCโ€™s outstanding rating despite the recent challenges in the industry mirrors its steadfast commitment to be of service to the Filipinos.

Attending the GOCC governance awards on Monday at PICC were NPCโ€™s Senior Department Manager for Administration and Acting Corporate Secretary Atty. Patrick D. Mabbagu, Senior Department Manager for Internal Audit Ms. Vedalisa N. Arevalo, OIC Department Manager for Revenue Management Ms. Bernadette Rivero and Strategic and Business Planning Divisionโ€™s Ms. Raquel dela Cueva.

NPC delegates also met National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) president, Engr. Fortunato Leynes and TransCo executives Ms. Dinna Dizon and Atty. Gary Padilla.
