Rapu-Rapu Island now enjoys 24/7 power

Earlier this year, NPC has granted round-the-clock power operations for the 1, 157 households of its Rapu-Rapu Diesel Power Plant in Albay.
With additional generating sets that previously arrived

and synced in the island’s grid, the power plant’s dependable capacity was brought to 2.56 MW. This now can accommodate additional household connections or increased power demand.
Rapu-Rapu Island is one of the three islands that comprise the municipality of Rapu-Rapu, along with Batan Island and Guinanayan Island. NPC provides electricity on the island through the Albay Power and Energy Corporation.
A simple ceremony was held to mark the launching of the 24/7 power, graced by NPC officials led by then Vice President for SPUG Atty. Rogel T. Teves and Rapu-Rapu Mayor Ronald A. Galicia.
