NPC CES officers attend the first CES Public Leaders’ Summit

The National Power Corporation’s Career Executive Service Officers have attended the 1st Public Leaders’ Summit on May 29-30 at the Summit Galleria Hotel in Cebu City.

Power System Analysis Training conducted to empower NPC engineers

NPC has organized Power System Analysis training for select engineers to further their knowledge on system planning and its tools.

Conducted by Mr. Gaylord A. Mendoza, the four-day intensive training aims to introduce the importance of a SCADA system in a network, allow participants to use power system analysis tools for system planning and to implement system planning within the Philippine code.

NPC holds Supervisory Development Program for batch 1 of employees

NPC through the Training and Development Division has recently conducted training on supervisory development for select employees to enhance the level of performance and motivating techniques at the workplace.

With the learning from the course, the participants are expected to try leadership practices and maximize work productivity.

The Training and Development division will hold the same course in a couple more of batches.

 

Coaching and Mentoring Seminar series concludes on February 1

The final and third batch of NPC’s Coaching and Mentoring Seminar was concluded on Friday, February 1.

The seminar was conducted by the Civil Service Institute. As the learning and development hub of the Civil Service Commission, the Institute gives programs that enable leaders and HR professionals develop towards their full potential.

It aims to equip NPC leaders with principles and processes of mentoring others, thus creating a work environment that develops competencies needed to achieve goals.

The two-day course was again conducted by Mr. Audie B. Masigan, an Organizational Planning, Learning and Development expert and bona fide member of the International Association of Facilitators.

NPC holds seminar on the Omnibus Rules on Appointments and other Human Resource Actions (ORAOHRA Revised 2018)

To update its HR personnel, officials and appointing authorities on Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Rules on Appointments and Other Human Resource Actions, NPC on Thursday, January 10 has organized a seminar on the said subjects with CSC Director Dick N. Echavez as resource speaker or as what he prefers, the ‘learning services provider.’

Over 80 HR practitioners/officers and officials attended the seminar and were apprised on the latest provisions on the rules on appointments, personnel movements, as well as the responsibilities and roles of the Human Resources Management Officers (HRMOs) and the Human Resource Merit Promotion and Selection Board (HRMPSB).

The seminar proved vital as it also served as venue in which Director Echavez directly addressed various issues and concerns on personnel movements/actions peculiar to NPC.

NPC's internal auditors attend seminar on auditing by COA

NPC’s internal auditors led by Ms. Vedalisa Arevalo attend a seminar on Auditing Standards for the Philippine Public Sector with Philippine Application Guidelines conducted by the Commission on Audit.

The 24-hour training, also attended by other agencies like the DOH, DOJ and Sandiganbayan, aims to strengthen the internal control system among the government sector.

NPC participates to the HRMD Summit sponsored by the European Union

To promote a unified Human Resources Management and Development program in the energy-sector in the Philippines, the European Union funded a summit on the development of a capacity development roadmap for HR and in planning and implementing programs that enhance access to sustainable energy.

Organized by the Access to Sustainable Energy Programme of the Philippines, the summit was attended by NPC employees – Mr. Rodrigo B. Nojadera, Delia M. Bahena, Arnel M. Tutanes, Rey S. Polestico, Noel G. Espayos and Julia Maria C. Atencio.

The four-day training was held on September 11-14, 2018 in Splendido Taal Country Club, Tagaytay City.

NPC unveils 2018 photo contest entries in an exhibit

The entries and grand winners of the 2018 NPC Photo Contest can now be viewed in an exhibit in the NPC building’s atrium after it was opened to the public on Monday, November 5, 2018 during the 82nd anniversary celebration of NPC.

With the theme Resilience and Resurgence in the Islands, employees from various NPC satellite offices submitted photos depicting their own interpretation of the theme.

Out of 76 photos, 24 were selected as finalists, 12 of which were grand winners. The winners were Bienvenido Basbas and Pablito Argamosa from Dams Management Department; Hans Dexter Pagayon from Power Engineering Services; June Formanes, Reymund Megino, Ronald Del Rosario, Elsa Sandoval and Mary Anne Llacuna from Small Power Utilities Group; and Ronald Allan Salazar from Mindanao Generation.

NPC’s In-house MBA students kick-off new term with governance seminar

To start off the new trimester, the FEU-Institute of Accounts, Business and Finance organized an interactive seminar on corporate governance for NPC’s in-house MBA students. The seminar was conducted by Ka Orly Mercado, a politician, diplomat, professor and broadcaster.

Ka Orly talked about the current struggles of governance, be it in the public or private sector and encouraged the student-employees to plant the seeds of reform wherever they are today. He also emphasized the importance of being always ahead of the curve.

 

Refresher seminar on RA 9184 conducted in NPC MinGen

NPC Mindanao Generation’s managers, end users, and members of the Bids and Awards Committee and Technical Working Group have recently attended a seminar on Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act.

The two-day seminar was conducted by Ms. Enelita delos Reyes, Senior Department Manager from the Administration Group.
