NPC gives paralegal training to IP watershed patrollers

The National Power Corporation – Angat Watershed Area Team (AWAT) has recently organized a paralegal training for the bantay gubat or watershed patrollers from the Katutubong Dumagat ng Sierra Madre ng Angat (KADUSMANA).

With such training and knowledge on their rights and responsibilities as patrollers and on the established laws on watershed protection, NPC believes that the 40 participants can perform their duties and handle challenges in forest protection activities better.

AWAT Chief Ador R. Mallare also imparted among the participants the vital role that the bantay gubat plays in securing the forests.

NPC also expresses its gratitude to Angat Hydropower Corporation and San Miguel Corporation Global Power Foundation for their logistical support to KADUSMANA during patrol operations.
KADUSMANA is an indigenous people organization formed by NPC, while the Angat Watershed is one of the 11 watershed reservations being managed by the Corporation.
