In observance of Fire Prevention Month last March, NPCโ€™s San Roque Watershed in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection-San Nicholas and the local government unit of Barangay San Felipe conducted a fire symposium for the Sangguniang Kabataan, civilian volunteer organizations, and barangay health workers.

This symposium aims to educate the participants on fire safety and preparedness, acquaint them with proper response procedures, and provide an understanding of the nature and behavior of fire.

Alongside the informative lectures, the BFP showcased safety tips and included hands-on learning opportunities for participants to demonstrate the use of fire extinguishers and firefighting equipment. This event hopes to create a well-informed environment that fosters collaboration and strategic planning to address the challenges of fire management and emergency response effectively.

San Roque Watershed is one of the 11 reservations under NPCโ€™s stewardship. In its management of the watershed, NPC performs various programs on rehabilitation, protection, and resource development.ย
