As part of its campaign to spread environmental awareness, NPC recently concluded a series of watershed protection lectures to 14 schools in Cavinti and Paete in Laguna.

Over 500 elementary and high school students participated in the lectures, the main objective of which was to educate the students on the importance of rehabilitating and protecting the Caliraya-Lumot Watershed Forest Reserve (CLWFR), the challenges that watersheds face and the practical ways to help preserve the forests.

NPCโ€™s Caliraya-Lumot Watershed Area Team led the activity and expressed its gratitude to the Public School District Supervisors of Cavinti and Paete, Ms. Soledad S. Villanueva, and Ms. Zoila I. Badulis for supporting the lectures.

CLWFR is one of the 11 watershed reservations being managed by NPC through reforestation, agroforestry, greenbelt establishment, enforcement of forest laws and occupancy management.
