NPC opens Casuguran Diesel Power Plant in Homonhon Island
True to its mandate of bringing electricity to far-flung islands and communities, the National Power Corporation has recently switched on its diesel power plant in Casuguran, Homonhon Island, servicing 411 connected households.

Casuguran DPP initially gives 8 hours of electricity to its households through the Samar Electric Cooperative II.

The simple switch-on ceremony was conducted simultaneously with the unveiling of the National Quincentennial Historical Marker at the Magellan Landing site in Calicoan, Guiuan, Samar. This is the third marker unveiled in Guiuan to commemorate the Quincentennial of the First Circumnavigation of the World through the Magellan-Elcano expedition.
