NPC LFI holds second meeting for the year, celebrates with VP Barruela of CAG

The NPC Ladies Foundation, Inc. members and officers gathered last March 29 for its second meeting for the year. The ladies discussed the possibility of having another classroom project for school children in the Visayas region. They also tackled the Foundation’s financial standing and the highlights of its recent turnover of an ICT classroom for Amai Pakpak Central Elementary School in Marawi City on January 28.

The meeting was followed by a Fellowship to congratulate and celebrate with the newly appointed Vice President for Corporate Affairs Group of NPC, Mr. Rene B. Barruela, who also celebrated his birthday in March.

In her message, Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez expressed her gratitude for VP Barruela’s support to the Foundation saying, ‘his support and encouragement to the women of CAG to join NPC-LFI has resulted in a significant increase in the Foundation’s membership.’

For the afternoon’s togetherness, Cafe Buenavie’s home kitchen served Malay Brunei dishes of Nasi Lemak (fragrant long grain rice flavored with coconut milk, lemongrass and pandan leaves) with chicken, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, fried peanuts, anchovies, sambal belacan and beef rendang and fish and mussels crackers. We served yacon salad too. For dessert, the ladies shared over baked orange almond cakes and made homemade vanilla and rocky road ice cream and assorted cookies. Homemade hot black and red dates tea became a big hit for everyone.
