Napocor energizes 13.8 kV Divilacan distribution line in Isabela

The National Power Corporation (Napocor) energizes the 14 kilometer 13.8 kV distribution line from Maconacon to Divilacan in Isabela province, connecting and powering additional six barangays to its Maconacon Diesel Power Plant (DPP).

“The new distribution line, which connects the coastal barangays of Dimapula, Dicatian and Dicaruyan in Divilacan; and Aplaya, Fely and Diana in Maconacon, allowed access to electricity for additional 800 households,” said Napocor President and CEO Pio J. Benavidez.

Benavidez said that the corporation allotted 78 million pesos for the completion of the project and that Maconacon DPP is likewise set to receive another 600kW generating sets next year as part of the corporation’s capacity addition program.

With the completion of the distribution line, Napocor hopes that it will help more families in pursuit of their livelihood that includes fishery and agriculture.

As mandated by the Republic Act 9136 or the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001, Napocor performs missionary electrification through its Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) and provides associated power delivery systems in areas not connected to the main grid.

In Northern Luzon, apart from Maconacon and Palanan in Isabela, Napocor also operates SPUG plants in Batanes, Cagayan, Quezon, Kabugao in Apayao, Casiguran in Aurora, and Tingloy in Batangas. END
