National Power Corporation President and CEO Fernando Martin Y. Roxas joined the panel of speakers in the recently concluded Enlit Asia 2023 held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

President Nani shared before the power and energy professionals present at the conference the peculiarity of NPC’s missionary electrification and its strategies in renewable energy and hybridization.

Enlit Asia, a unifying brand for PowerGen Asia and Asia Utility Week, is an annual conference for the power and energy sector in Southeast Asia that aims to provide a platform for knowledge sharing, and innovative solutions in the industry.

𝐍𝐏𝐂 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐂𝐆’𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐 𝐂𝐆𝐒

The National Power Corporation obtained a final rating of 94.92 in the Governance Commission of GOCC’s (GCG) corporate governance scorecard (CGS) for the calendar year 2022. 

The CGS measures agency performances in stakeholder relationships, disclosure and transparency and corporate governance initiatives, among others.

NPC’s outstanding rating despite the recent challenges in the industry mirrors its steadfast commitment to be of service to the Filipinos.

Attending the GOCC governance awards on Monday at PICC were NPC’s Senior Department Manager for Administration and Acting Corporate Secretary Atty. Patrick D. Mabbagu, Senior Department Manager for Internal Audit Ms. Vedalisa N. Arevalo, OIC Department Manager for Revenue Management Ms. Bernadette Rivero and Strategic and Business Planning Division’s Ms. Raquel dela Cueva.

NPC delegates also met National Transmission Corporation (TransCo) president, Engr. Fortunato Leynes and TransCo executives Ms. Dinna Dizon and Atty. Gary Padilla.

𝟑𝟓 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬, 𝐍𝐏𝐂 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲

To heighten the anticipation for Christmas and to spread holiday cheer, the National Power Corporation held a Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 20 led by President Nani Roxas and Ms. Ginny Roxas.  

A fun run and Zumba were also held in the morning to encourage the employees to get back to their health activities. From the afternoon until evening, exhibition games in volleyball (women) and basketball (men and women) were organized to mark the day with fun and friendship.

𝐂𝐒𝐂 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐍𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐏𝐂 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) issued a registration certificate for the three-year Collective Negotiation Agreement between the National Power Corporation and its Power Generation Employees Association (PGEA)-NPC.  

Awarding the certificate to NPC President Fernando Martin Y. Roxas and PGEA Vice President Raul Del Mundo was CSC Director Dick N. Chavez of the CSC Central Office. They were joined by NPC's Human Resources Department Manager Ms. Eloida Leona and PGEA Officer Mr. Arnel Casimiro.  

PGEA is the sole negotiating representative of all rank-and-file employees of NPC. The CNA is pursuant to Rule XIII of the Amended Rules and Regulations of Executive Order No. 180 containing the guidelines on the exercise of the right to organize of government employees and the creation of public sector labor management and for other purposes.

The National Power Corporation on Monday held a simple celebration to commemorate its 87th founding anniversary with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman and Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Raphael M. Lotilla at the NPC Platinum Hall in Diliman, Quezon City.  

The celebration carries the theme, Transcending at 87: Service Beyond Adversity which reflects NPC’s determination to brave the present challenges and demands in the industry. 

Secretary Pangandaman affirmed NPC’s role in ensuring the continuous development of the country through missionary electrification, calling the corporation a beacon of enduring commitment to serve and provide a better life for Filipinos.  

The Budget Secretary also ensured her and the DBM’s continued support to NPC as it fulfills its mandates. “Makakaasa po kayo na katulad ng aming palaging pagsuporta sa inyo, nasa likod po ng NPC ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM). In any way na makatutulong po tayo na mapabuti ang buhay ng ating mga minamahal na kababayan, palagi pong nandoon ang DBM,” Secretary Pangandaman said.  

Secretary Pangandaman encouraged the NPC employees present at the hall and those tuned in online to embody the anniversary theme by enduring instruments of unity and preserving the legacy and service beyond borders for generations to come. “Buo ang aming suporta at tiwala sa NPC as they fulfill [President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr’s] vision of total electrification by 2028. Isa ang NPC sa maghahatid sa Bagong Pilipinas na ating minimithi,’ said the Budget Secretary.
