NPC President Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita today talked about the history and prospects of nuclear power in the Philippines in the ongoing Conference on the Prospects for Nuclear Power in the Asia Pacific Region, conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The conference, which will run today until September 1, will cover subjects like status and prospects of nuclear energy around the globe and atomic waste management.

As host to the event, the Philippines through the Department of Energy and other agencies like the DFA, DOST, PNRI and NPC will also lead discussion on the issues and challenges related to nuclear energy among Asia Pacific delegates.
