NPC and the Municipality of Claveria in Masbate led by Mayor Henedina Andueza signed a MOA today for the NPC take over of the LGU's Diesel Power Plant which currently serves some 1,000 households. With the takeover, additional 3,800 household will be electrified and existing completed distribution lines in 3 barangays will be utilized. Claveria has a total households of about 9,800.

NPC will likewise electrify some 1,000 new households in the nearby San Pascual town, also of Burias Island, Masbate.

On March, 2016, NPC will energize some 1,600 households in Naro Island, Masbate. The island will enjoy electricity for the first time.

In the province of Camarines Norte, the tourist destination Calaguas Island with 200 households will likewise be electrified for the first time.

These are on top of the new households that may be electrified by the electric coops in the missionary areas due to the additional gen sets NPC is putting in the NPC Small Power Utilities (SPUG). There are 72 new gen set units due for distribution nationwide.

All these were confirmed in the conference today with the managers and plant heads of NPC SPUG Bicol Operations Divison held at Daraga, Albay.
