Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mel Senen Sarmiento sends his warm felicitations to the National Power Corporation as it celebrates its 79th Anniversary through a program on Tuesday morning.

Sec. Mel urged the employees to be strategic, addressing not only today’s problems but also ensuring a future environment where everyone can be proud of.

“While you may have accomplished much as the leader and innovator in the power industry, marami pang dapat gawin. As I speak here in front of you today, many school age children in the remotest various upland in communities, may do with a kerosene lamp to do their assignments at night because their communities have not yet known the benefits of electricity. I urge you therefore to intensify your missionary electrification program,” Sec. Sarmiento said.

The DILGL chief also planted Mangkono tree or iron wood tree to mark his visit in Napocor.
