NPC MEETS CLWEC FOR CALIRAYA ECOTOURISM
After the soft launching of the Angat Rainforest and Ecopark in Bulacan, the National Power Corporation now looks into developing the ecotourism of the Caliraya-Lumot Watershed in Laguna. To begin with, NPC President Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita and Watershed Management Chief Mr. Emmanuel Umali met on Friday the Caliraya-Lumot Watershed Ecological Community (CLWEC) composing of local government units, resort owners, government agencies representatives and private residents of the host communities. Also discussed in the meeting was the proposed increase of the elevation of Caliraya Lake to produce more electricity for summer. The discussion was led by Mr. Romualdo Beltran, Dams Management Department Manager of NPC and attended by the affected families of the proposed elevation. The Caliraya-Lumot Watershed covers three towns in Laguna namely Cavinti, Kalayaan and Lumban.
