It was not really a farewell. It was like a family whose children are all grown up and have to separate to build families of their own. A family and children who may have different lives now, but the same blood remains which is the service to the Filipino people.

This is how the National Power Corporation led by President Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta.Rita and the employees of the Angat Hydroelectric Power Plant headed by Engr. Rodolfo German want to think of the forthcoming turnover of the facility to its new Korean owners.

In a short but meaningful program held in Angat on Tuesday afternoon (October 21), President Gladys thanked the employees and wished them luck in their new company.

“If I were to have it on my own way, I don’t want you to be separated. You’ve been instrumental in the gains of the corporation throughout the years. But since this time has come, I wish you all the blessings in your future endeavors. Ipakita ninyo ang inyong galing na nilinang ng NPC sa bago ninyong kumpanya” President Gladys said.

As to some who are afraid of the uncertain future, the President has this to say, “FEAR can be two things – Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise. It is up to you if you would Run or Rise.”

Engr. German also expressed the gratitude of the employees to the corporation saying, “dahil sa NPC, nakapagpatayo kami ng bahay at nakapagpaaral ng mga anak.”

The NPC Chorale was also present during the program to serenade the employees.

In concluding the program, President Gladys, joined by VP Melchor Ridulme, SDM Manuel Luis Plofino, DM Emmanuel Umali and DM Romualdo Beltran shared a communal prayer with the employees led by Atty. Patrick Mabbagu.
